I've had it for maybe 18 months and the Teflon is starting to wear off now so perhaps I'll have to replace it soonish. I think that probably all these type of grills are prone to the same problem (Anthony's was MUCH worse). This one heats up quickly, has a convenient and easy to clean grease trap and the lid hinges to accommodate a variety of foods. I bought one of these to replace my ‘Anthony Worrall Thompson’ version. I’ve had it for maybe 18 months and the Teflon is starting to wear off now so perhaps I’ll have to replace it soonish. I think that probably all these type of grills are prone to the same problem (Anthony’s was MUCH worse). This one heats up quickly, has a convenient and easy to clean grease trap and the lid hinges to accommodate a variety of foods. Certainly not bad for the price but I think I’d look for one with removable plates next time.

I bought this only a month after buying a useless grill with removable plates. Very quick to heat up and has a good constant temperature. Highly recommended if you are after a small easy to store grill.

Just NEVER buy a George Foreman with removable plates as they dont heat up correctly and are a pain to put back togeather. You will live to regret it and end up buying another like this.

You just preheat it for a few minutes, and then pop in your chosen food. Leave for the recommended time and voila! We've done all sorts in it already - steak, sausages, lamb escalopes, chunks of vegetables and even naan bread. It is so convenient; no more wasting energy and space by heating the oven for that garlic baguette, just pop it in the grill. It is a lot healthier too, as the fat drips away into the tray provided. The steak was great - I like mine well done, and it was well done, but still moist and tender.<br/><br/>You must try nectarines in it, they are out of this world. Just slice up a couple of nectarines, and pop them in the grill for about 5 minutes. We recently bought this grill, and I wish I’d got one sooner.

It is so easy and convenient to use. You just preheat it for a few minutes, and then pop in your chosen food. Leave for the recommended time and voila! We’ve done all sorts in it already – steak, sausages, lamb escalopes, chunks of vegetables and even naan bread. It is so convenient; no more wasting energy and space by heating the oven for that garlic baguette, just pop it in the grill. It is a lot healthier too, as the fat drips away into the tray provided. The steak was great – I like mine well done, and it was well done, but still moist and tender.

You must try nectarines in it, they are out of this world. Just slice up a couple of nectarines, and pop them in the grill for about 5 minutes. Delicious as a healthy dessert.

I really recommend this to everyone who wants to eat more healthily and save on energy.

I got this sandwich toaster 8 months ago and I’m already looking to buy a new one!

1. Not very easy to wash (would be easier if plates came out), and even when you are carefull water get inside the unit.

2.The rubber feet have left marks over my kitchen surfaces

3. May be my love for chesse but chesse gets into the hinge.

4. Sometimes the lock gets a bit stuck and when you are trying to open it the stream comes out and burns you.

Safe to say I’m looking to up grade my sandwich toaster.

The toasties come out perfectly sealed, with hardly any spillage. Obviously if you stuff a massive amount of filling there, it will go all over the place. But for normal sized portions it's more than adequate.<br/>It's true that the plates don't come out, but it's still easy to clean. When I purchased one of these the price was considerably higher, I bought it on a friend’s recommendation and I’m very glad I did.
It heats up quickly, and is so simple to use. The toasties come out perfectly sealed, with hardly any spillage. Obviously if you stuff a massive amount of filling there, it will go all over the place. But for normal sized portions it’s more than adequate.
It’s true that the plates don’t come out, but it’s still easy to clean. Just wait until it cools down, then use antibacterial kitchen wipes, followed by a damp sponge.
A quality product at a bargain price. Buy with confidence.

I bought four of these as I thought it made good sense to make four toasted sandwiches in one go. I found the product rather disappointing and have ended up with four bulky cages in the kitchen drawer that have not been used now for a few years.

The cage itself holds the sandwich very securely, but that is about the only positive comment I can make about it. The toaster slots are not really wide enough to allow you to make a decent toasted sandwich, even if you use the thinnest sliced bread on the market and are really mean with the amount of filling you put in. I found that all but one of the sandwiches I made snagged as the cage was either inserted into the toaster or as they came out, so sandwich presentation was not great (and I did put the butter on the outside of the bread, as recommended). The snagging also meant that ingredients ended up getting stuck inside the toaster and were difficult to remove.

If you do decide to give the cage a go, I would suggest you buy just one rather than make the same mistake as me.

I bought a twin pack of these for my Dualit toaster.

I had bought the toaster about 5 years ago, and being a quality product, it has lasted really well.

It turns out however that it is an old model, and although it looks exactly the same, the slots are too small for these cages.

One to watch out for!

Although none of my sandwiches have ever escaped i decided to give this product a chance, and i was pleasantly surprised by how effective it is. If you already have a half decent way of making a toasted sandwiches then its not really necessary- but if you have a dualit toaster and want to get maximum use out of it then this is a nice addition.

i would have two slight gripes- one, its a bit pricey, although in fairness it looks quite sturdy. secondly, unless you have a single slice cooking option you are basically going to need two of these things as the toaster should not be used with an empty slot. Another good reason for needing two of them is that one toastie is never enough, and it is a torturous wait for that second sandwich if you only have one cage.

Based upon the three of these toasters I had, don’t buy one. None lasted for more than a month with only occasional use and all tripped the ring main circuit breaker when they failed.

Could have been a bad batch I suppose.

Amazon’s customer service was, as ever, excellent. Two replacements and a refund with no fuss.
